This is a collection of ideas I have for research topics that I want to turn into essays or possibly even books. I will be going to law school on 8/20/23 which I imiagin will be taking up the majority of my time and I wont be able to work on any of these. However, when I do have more free time I plan on researching some of these topics.

A Historical Analysis of Ideology --- I do not believe that the concept of ideology, specifically as a form of identity, has existed in the past as it does now. To say "I am a communist / liberal / fascist" is an absurd statement of our modern era, that would have made no sense to a person of the recent past. I theorize that is one of the result of the lack of personal identity and purpose people have within a liberal society. To examin this growth I would certainly begin my research around the development of liberalism during the 1600's, and around the emergence of communism and fascism around the turn of the century. I also believe taking a look at some other decaying societies, nameley Rome and Athens, may give some insight into how people behave during times of cultural stagnation.

An Analysis of the American State Religion --- Religion is a phenomenon that stretches far beyond the rigid systems of the christain and islamic churhces. Religion, if absent, comes from the soil of a developing State and it is used to explain what stands outside of our rationality, and as a tool to keep the State and the cultural body the State governs alive. To say contemporary countries are often arelgious or atheistic is a rather ignorant statment that is almost completley founded on the lack of physical engagement the population of these countries have with christainity. America, like all other supposed atheistic western countries, has a religion that the State promotes. The origin and exact details of such a religion deeply interest me. I would like to examin the morality, cosmology, and wisdom that is supported and passed down to the people by the American State. I think is probably the most ambitious project I have in stock.
